Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In continuation of domestic and international warnings about the catastrophic health situation in Gaza, the Gaza Health Ministry issued a statement last night announcing a severe shortage of blood units in hospitals in the Gaza Strip due to the increase in the number of wounded and the decrease in the ability of Palestinians to donate blood.
The Palestinian Health Ministry emphasized that due to the continuous increase in the number of patients and wounded, the severe siege imposed by the Zionist regime, preventing the entry of medical aid, and the decrease in the ability of Palestinian citizens to donate blood due to malnutrition and a severe lack of basic needs, we are facing a major blood shortage crisis.
The ministry added: "We call on international humanitarian organizations and UN agencies, including the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to immediately bring sufficient quantities of blood units to the Gaza Strip and to pressure the occupying regime to break the siege and allow essential equipment into the Strip."
