Putin: Nuclear triad still guarantees Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed at a meeting on the state arms program for 2027-2036 that the nuclear triad remains the cornerstone of Russia's sovereignty.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Citing Sputnik, Putin outlined the key priorities of Russia's military future at the meeting on Wednesday, emphasizing modern weapons systems and learning from past conflicts.

"Focusing on creating the most advanced weapons systems" and "using the experience of special military operations and regional conflicts to shape a long-term plan" were among the priorities mentioned by the Russian president.

He also emphasized that early planning and creating the infrastructure for new weapons systems are very important, adding: "Russia took crucial steps a decade ago to ensure the development of its defense industry."

Putin announced that defense companies have significantly increased production with the support of the state. The new armament program will be in line with the Russian Navy's development strategy until 2050.

Emphasizing the strengthening of the combat capabilities of the Russian ground forces, he added that as part of the new program, special attention will be paid to the nuclear triad.

The Russian president also ordered that special attention be paid to the preservation and strengthening of this key strategic asset.
