Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Israeli Channel 12 TV reported, citing a Zionist official, that on the orders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mossad Director and Tel Aviv Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer will meet with Witkoff. The report did not mention the location of the meeting.
This meeting, ahead of the start of the sixth round of Iran-US nuclear talks, reflects the Israeli regime’s efforts to influence the process of these talks and express its concerns to the American side.
The sixth round of talks in Muscat; Iran: We will not back down from the enrichment red line
Oman Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaid announced on his X-Net account (formerly Twitter) that the sixth round of talks between Iran and the United States will be held next Sunday in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The American website Axios also claimed, citing an American official, that Steve Whittaker will meet with Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Muscat on Sunday.
Indirect talks between Iran and the United States on the Islamic Republic of Iran's nuclear program have been held five times so far, in Muscat and Rome.
Iran has repeatedly stated that it has never sought to acquire nuclear weapons and that an agreement is possible if the US goal in these talks is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. However, Tehran has repeatedly emphasized that it will never back down from its red line, which is enrichment on its own soil.
The Vice President's Position: Negotiations or Alternative Solution
In his remarks at the Kennedy Center, US Vice President J.D. Vance said about the nuclear talks with Iran: "We are negotiating with Iran and we hope that these negotiations will be successful. Otherwise, we will have to find an alternative solution." Vance also said: "I don't know if Iran wants nuclear weapons? We don't want Iran to have nuclear weapons."
This is despite the fact that Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that Iran's nuclear activities are entirely peaceful and in accordance with the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
