Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Interior Affairs, expressed satisfaction with the growth of people’s trust in health centers at the closing ceremony of a specialized course at the ministry’s 300-bed hospital and emphasized the increasing importance of these centers in public health.
Mr. Haqqani said at the ceremony: “People’s trust in health centers and services is increasing day by day.” He added that providing health services is one of the great and humane tasks in society that can play a prominent role in reducing people’s pain and problems.
He called health workers lucky people and said that their efforts to help patients pave the way for a healthy life for society.
The Acting Minister of Interior also congratulated the graduates of this specialized course and urged them to prioritize serving the nation. He promised that the ministry is considering new measures to develop services in order to encourage and support specialized health professionals.
In recent months, the Ministry of Interior, in addition to its security duties, has begun efforts to develop health capacities within its subordinate institutions. The 300-bed hospital of the Ministry of Interior is one of the largest centers providing medical services to security forces and their families in Kabul.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with other institutions, including the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the Afghan Red Crescent, has also undertaken plans to strengthen the capacity of health centers nationwide.
The Acting Minister of Interior’s statement of support for the development of health services shows that government institutions have become aware of the need to improve the health system. In a country that has been plagued by war and humanitarian crises for years, building trust in the health sector is of vital importance. If this process of strengthening health services in government institutions is accompanied by transparent and specialized oversight, it could provide a basis for expanding public satisfaction and promoting social health.
