Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: A few weeks ago, three Indian citizens disappeared after traveling to Tehran, and the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran finally released these people who were said to have been taken hostage.
Now, "The Week" magazine has reported in an interview with the victims of this incident, including Jaspal Singh, that the main perpetrators of this kidnapping were a group of human traffickers from Pakistan.
Singh explained that they first came to Tehran through an Indian intermediary and were then handed over to a group of Pakistani brokers in this city. Immediately after the handover, the kidnappers confiscated their mobile phones and began extorting money from their families through threats, beatings and torture.
The victims stressed that most of the kidnappers were Pakistani and spoke mainly Punjabi, with only one Iranian among them.
According to Tasnim, these revelations once again emphasize the need to deal responsibly with misinformation and avoid making dangerous generalizations against the migrant community. Spreading false information with the aim of creating distrust and tarnishing the image of migrants can have devastating social and security consequences. With the true identity of the kidnappers being revealed, the importance of verifying news and avoiding premature judgments becomes even more apparent.
