Celebrating the Fourth Day of Muharram in Bamyan; Emphasizing the Role of Hazrat Muslim (AS) for Imam Hussein (AS) as Hazrat Ali (AS) was for the Prophet (PBUH)

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Bamyan: Hojjat-ul-Islam and Muslims Ghulam Hassan Fasihi, a Bamyan scholar, pointed out the importance of the role of Hazrat Muslim in his speech. He explained that just as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) repeatedly addressed Imam Ali (AS) as his "cousin and brother" and made him the only person he trusted, Imam Hussein (AS) also used the title of "cousin and brother" for Imam Muslim (AS) and sent him to Kufa as a trusted person on his behalf.

 

Al-Fasihi added that despite receiving twelve thousand letters from the Kufans, Imam Hussein (AS) sent his trusted person, Muslim ibn Aqeel, to inquire about the situation in Kufa. The Imam (AS) wrote a letter to the Kufans through Imam Muslim and told them that after receiving their letters, he had sent Muslim ibn Aqeel, who is "my cousin and brother", to them because Muslim is a trusted person and if he gives assurances, I myself will come to you.

 

The Kufic Pledge, the Martyrdom of Muslim (AS) and Today's Lessons

Mr. Fasihi stated that after entering Kufa and reading the letter of the Imam (AS), Hazrat Muslim (AS) witnessed the pledge of allegiance and agreement of all the people. Everyone pledged allegiance to his ambassador, Muslim (AS), on behalf of the Imam (AS), and he also sent a letter to the Imam (AS) assuring him that everyone was waiting for him to help him and the religion of God. However, after Ibn Ziyad intervened, all the people abandoned Muslim (AS) and Hazrat Muslim (AS) was unjustly martyred by Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad.

 

At the end of his speech, Mr. Fasihi stated that all Muslims should avoid "Kufic-like actions" and not leave the Imam of the Age (AS) alone, and called on the people to participate in preparing the ground for the reappearance and to be helpful.
