Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi this morning (Tuesday, July 1) reiterated Iran's insistence that it has the right to enrich uranium in its nuclear program.
Araqchi said in an interview with the CBS network: "In order to decide to resume negotiations, we must first ensure that Washington will not return to targeting us during the negotiations."
He explained: “I don’t think the talks will resume so soon. With all these considerations, we still need a lot of time and the doors of diplomacy will never be closed.”
Stating that nuclear facilities can be attacked but enrichment technology and science cannot be destroyed through bombing, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: “Our country’s peaceful nuclear program has become a source of national pride and honor.”
According to the report, Araqchi continued: “We have gone through 12 days of imposed war, so people will not give up enrichment easily.”
He also added: “We have shown and proven our ability to defend ourselves during the war and if we face any aggression, we will continue to do so.”
