Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a meeting with Alexandre Matou, Director of the Asia-Pacific Region of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, asked him to increase his efforts to assist Afghan returnees.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on Tuesday, in the meeting, Mr. Muttaqi appreciated the services of the Federation in Afghanistan and emphasized the effective cooperation of this organization with the needy people of the country in various fields.
Muttaqi also called on all international charitable institutions and organizations, especially the Federation, to increase their efforts to help Afghans in need.
He specifically noted that with the increasing trend of Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan and Iran, there is an urgent need to provide services such as shelter, safe drinking water, health services, and also create economic opportunities for them.
He also called for the establishment of equipped and standard clinics inside the country to treat children with heart diseases.
Mr. Alexander Matthew stated in this meeting that currently about 300 clinics and hospitals in Afghanistan are under the support of the Federation and pledged that the process of health assistance will continue and expand.
Matthew also appreciated the cooperation of the Islamic Emirate in facilitating humanitarian activities and providing fair services and promised that efforts to provide more services to heart patients and support the needy Afghans will continue at a faster pace.
The two sides also emphasized continuing joint cooperation, increasing humanitarian assistance, and providing financial support and equipment to health centers in Afghanistan.
