US officials: Iran is preparing to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: US officials told Reuters that Iran has made the necessary preparations to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz over the past month.

 

Reuters reported this morning (Wednesday, July 1) citing these sources: “No mines have been laid in the Strait of Hormuz yet. Iran’s preparations to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz occurred some time after the Israeli attack.”

 

These officials, who were not named, claimed: “We do not rule out the possibility that the preparation of the mines was a ploy by Iran to convince the US that it is serious about closing the Strait of Hormuz.”
