Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, referring to the provision of an unprecedented platform for investment, emphasized that the goal is to transform Afghanistan from an importing country to an exporting country. He called on industrialists to produce high-quality products and raise domestic quality standards above foreign goods. The importance of importing high-quality raw materials was also emphasized.
Maulvi Islam Jar, Governor of Herat, also pointed to the efforts of the Islamic Emirate to advance the country’s economy and create job opportunities for youth within the country.
Molavi Mohammad Bashir Sirat, the head of Herat’s Department of Industry and Commerce, while supporting investors, explained that the fourth and fifth phases of this industrial park cover a total of 1,200 acres of land and have the capacity to build more than 400 new factories. Specifically, 600 acres in phase four and 608 acres in phase five will be allocated to industrialists.
Investors also consider the distribution of these lands to be crucial in attracting investment, economic development, and creating sustainable employment for the people. Currently, more than 1,160 factories are operating in the Herat Industrial Park, employing more than 80,000 people. This expansion of the new phases promises further economic growth and a reduction in unemployment in the region.
