Islamic authorities, scholars and institutions in various countries called for a decisive response
The unprecedented insult by former US President Donald Trump to the position of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei (may God protect him), has led to widespread and harsh reactions from religious authorities, scholars, religious figures and cultural institutions in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon and Bahrain. Many of them have called this action a "declaration of war against the Islamic world."
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Holy Mashhad: After Donald Trump made provocative statements threatening to assassinate the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and revealing his whereabouts, a number of authorities and scholars in Islamic countries reacted strongly to these statements. In Iraq, the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Sistani warned in a statement that "insulting the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran is an insult to religious authority and a symbol of the unity of the Islamic nation" and called for an immediate halt to such provocative actions.

Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Haeri, a religious authority in Najaf, also emphasized in a statement: “An attack on Ayatollah (Imam) Khamenei is an attack on the entire Islamic nation,” and warned that the Islamic nation will not remain silent in the face of such attacks.

In Iran, a number of religious authorities, including Grand Ayatollahs Makarem Shirazi, Nouri Hamedani, Javadi Amoli, and Sobhani, condemned the move and considered it a sign of America’s helplessness in the face of the Islamic Republic’s regional advances. They emphasized that such insults strengthen the unity of the people and the position of the leadership.

The Qom Seminary Teachers’ Assembly and the Qom Seminary Teachers’ Association, the Assembly of Experts on the Leadership, and dozens of seminary and religious institutions have also called the move “open hostility toward Islam and the nation.”

In Afghanistan, Hojjatoleslam Walmuslimin Sayed Isa Hosseini Mazari, head of the Tebyan Center for Social and Cultural Activities, strongly condemned the insult at the “Expression of Love and Support” conference in Mashhad, saying:
“Defending Imam Khamenei is defending the symbol of all Islam, and insulting him is declaring war on all followers of the path of the Guardianship of the Jurisprudence throughout the Islamic world.”

He added that Afghan refugees are “ready to be present in the field of defense and jihad against those who attack the Leader of the Revolution,” and emphasized that “the time of conservatism is over.”

The Afghan Shia Ulema Council and the Afghan Refugee Foundation in Iran have also declared their support for the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in separate statements.

In Pakistan, the Shia Ulema Council, Jamaat-e-Islami, and Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen have issued strongly worded positions, describing Trump’s action as an insult to the “honor of the Islamic Ummah” and a “declaration of war against the Islamic world.”

Allama Raja Nasser Abbas Jafari, a senator from the parliament and head of the Muslim Unity Party, responded to the threat by saying:
“We will not remain silent in the face of any threat against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution; they are the enemies of God.”

In Arab countries, Sheikh Isa Qassem, the leader of the Shiites in Bahrain, called Trump’s threat “an insult to all the sanctities of the nation.”

Lebanon’s Hezbollah also announced in a statement that insulting the Iranian leader is an insult to the resistance front, adding:
“This time, the Islamic nation will come out more united than ever.”

According to the office of Ayatollah A’rafi, the director of Iran’s seminaries, some religious authorities have issued fatwas condemning Trump as “moharebeh.”

Ayatollah Fazel Mahallati and Ayatollah Ka’bi have also considered this action to be a direct enmity against the Imam of the Time (a.t.c.) and Islam.

On social media and religious media affiliated with the Resistance Front, extensive campaigns have been launched in support of the leadership, and figures from Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, and Yemen have also adopted similar positions.

According to observers, the unified and cross-border reactions to Trump’s threat against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution demonstrate Imam Khamenei’s transnational status among the Islamic Ummah.

From Qom and Najaf to Mashhad, Kabul, Islamabad, and Beirut, religious and cultural figures have viewed the threat against him as a threat to the entire Islamic Ummah. This unprecedented alignment, not only against a direct threat, but also against the overall strategy of containing the Islamic resistance, is considered a common response from the Islamic world.
