The Islamic Emirate was recognized by Russia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the Islamic Emirate has been recognized by Russia.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement announcing that Dmitry Zhirnov, the Russian Ambassador to Kabul, officially announced Moscow's decision to recognize the government of the Islamic Emirate in his meeting today with Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
 
The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Russian Ambassador called this decision a "historic step" towards strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Russia.
 
This news was published while the new ambassador of the Islamic Emirate had submitted a copy of his credentials to Russia today.
