Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Tehran: The spiritual mourning ceremony for the Ashura night of Hussein was held with the presence of a large number of Afghan refugees at the Bab al-Hawaij delegation in Amirabad.
In this ceremony, Hojjat al-Islam wa’l-Muslimeen Seyyed Ali Mohseni, referring to the complexities of the era of sedition and the importance of insight in the path of religion, stated: When we know where the enemy is, our front is clear, but when the line of truth and falsehood is not clear, the task becomes very difficult.
Referring to the life of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the night of Ashura, he said: Hazrat Abu Abdullah took respite from the enemy on such a night to pray to God more.
He continued by referring to the repetition of the word “truth” in the Holy Quran and said: “The word “truth” appears 280 times in the Quran. This repetition shows that paying attention to truth and distinguishing it from falsehood is a constant and heavy duty for believers. In some situations, such as the time of Hazrat Abraham, distinguishing truth from falsehood was easy; one side of the field was idolatry and the other side was monotheism and worship of God.”
Referring to the events of the early Islamic period, Hojjat al-Islam Mohseni said: "However, at times such as Saqifa, the Battle of Jamal, and Nahrawan, it became more difficult to distinguish between the right and wrong fronts. In the Battle of Jamal, some believers came to Imam Ali (a.s.) and said that they could not fight, because the companions of both sides were both companions of the Prophet. They said that there was no difference between you in prayer or in the slogan of La ilaha illallah. These were points where distinguishing the path of truth required greater depth.
He continued by citing an example from the Battle of Siffin: When Anas bin Qais saw that Muawiyah's army had placed the Qurans on spears, he said that he would not fight anymore, because the Quran was on the battlefield. Imam Ali (a.s.) said: I am the speaking Quran. But Anas was not convinced, and his tribe also withdrew from the war. These examples show that distinguishing the truth is sometimes not easy and one must hear it with one's heart, accept it, then proclaim and defend it.
The speaker of the ceremony emphasized: Accepting the truth alone is not enough; some accept the truth and even tell people, but they do not have the courage to defend it. One must both believe in the truth, declare it, and stand in its way.
In another part of his speech, referring to the high position of Umm Salamah, the faithful wife of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), he said: Umm Salamah had a very high position with the Prophet. The Prophet gave her some soil and said that whenever this soil turns into blood, then it means that my Hussain has been martyred. This is a sign of the depth of the connection of the Ahl al-Bayt with truth and injustice.
In the final part of his speech, Hojjatoleslam Mohseni also addressed family issues and stated: One of the problems of some families today is the inability to apologize to each other. Sometimes, couples are unwilling to admit their mistakes due to pride, while forgiveness and humility help to warm the atmosphere in the home.
He warned against the phenomenon of emotional divorce, saying: "God did not bring the day when a husband and wife are together but have an emotional divorce. This type of divorce is more destructive than physical separation. If a husband and wife respect each other, this respect can be the greatest factor in strengthening the foundation of the family."
Hojjatoleslam Mohseni's speech on the night of Ashura is a reminder that Ashura is not just a historical event, but also a permanent criterion for distinguishing right from wrong in all eras. While calling for insight and standing on the path of truth, he called on society to strengthen the foundation of the family through humility and respect.
