Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): A meeting was held on Wednesday morning between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House; the meeting lasted about an hour and 50 minutes but ended without the publication of any official statement or explanation from either side.
The Axios news website had previously announced that the main purpose of the meeting was to discuss a solution to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Al Jazeera also confirmed that no statement had been issued, and considered the silence to be a possible sign of disagreement between the two officials on the issues discussed, including the situation in Gaza. According to the Qatari network, Netanyahu left the White House after the meeting without making any official statement.
Meanwhile, the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Aharonot, citing an informed source, claimed that Trump had put significant pressure on Netanyahu during the meeting to end the Gaza war.
According to the report, the US President emphasized to the Israeli Prime Minister: “We will only talk about Gaza; we must solve this crisis. The situation in Gaza is deplorable.”
Despite speculation about the content of the meeting, the lack of any official statement or comment from either side has left some uncertainty about the possible outcomes of the meeting regarding the humanitarian and military crisis in Gaza.
