Urgent and extensive assistance to thousands of migrants at the Islam Qala border
Hujjat-ul-Islam Abdul Hakim Mohammadi, head of the Grand Ayatollah Fayyaz Charity Foundation in Herat, says that with the significant increase in the wave of migration towards Herat province from the Islam Qala border, popular charity institutions and offices of religious leaders are fully mobilizing their resources, providing thousands of hot food, water, and temporary shelter to suffering families every night. On the other hand, officials of the Islamic Emirate have promised to pursue the process of providing assistance and transferring migrants with greater urgency and seriousness.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: With the intensification of the entry of migrants from Daikundi province to Herat through the Islam Qala border, it has called on officials and people to take a compassionate and enthusiastic action to provide assistance and support. Popular charity foundations, representatives of religious leaders, and popular mobilizations in Herat are continuously and with all their might providing basic facilities, including hot food, drinking water, and temporary shelter for these migrants.

Hajjat-ul-Islam Abdul Hakim Mohammadi, head of the Grand Ayatollah Fayyaz Charity Foundation, emphasizes the continuity and careful planning of aid and says: Every night, about 1,500 hot food parcels with drinking water are distributed to refugee families at the Islam Qala border. He also reported the temporary accommodation of dozens of refugees in Herat city and emphasizes that efforts to expand support are ongoing.

At the same time, the Sayyid al-Shohada Charity Foundation is also actively present alongside other charitable institutions. Bashir Ahmad Gohari, head of the foundation, has announced that more than three thousand food packages, cold water and other basic amenities have been sent to this region and the foundation is ready to continue supporting them.

Herat’s popular mobilizations also play an important role in providing extensive services at the border and in the city center, but alongside these efforts, Daikundi refugees talk about their fundamental and critical problems: financial problems and the closure of bank cards in Iran, which has prevented them from returning to their regions.

Qasem Basneh, a refugee from Miramur district of Daikundi, told Ava: “Our money has been frozen in Iranian bank accounts and we currently do not have the financial means to return. We are currently living in a mosque in Herat and are in need of urgent help.”

This situation is a humanitarian cry that requires the immediate attention and support of international organizations, governments, and charitable institutions to provide these families with better conditions for return and a better life.

On the other hand, Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, emphasized at a press conference at the Islam Qala border that the process of providing assistance and transferring refugees to their provinces will be pursued with greater speed and seriousness in order to reduce the current pressures and establish security and peace for the refugees.
