Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Deputy Head of the Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi Organization, Yasser Hussein Al-Issawi, stated that all security forces, including the Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi, the Iraqi army and police, are fully prepared to face any emergency.
According to Al-Furat News, Al-Issawi stated during his attendance at a meeting titled "Changing the Rules of Engagement in the Region, Towards Regional Conflict and Challenges of the Next Stage": "The region is in a completely critical situation and a regional war is likely to break out at any moment, however, there is extensive readiness among the military and security forces on all sides."
He concluded by adding: “Despite increased military and security preparedness at the regional level, Iraq currently enjoys security and is safe from the threat of an imminent regional war.”
The Popular Mobilization Forces’ announcement of readiness to confront any threat both reflects the force’s established role in Iraq’s security structure and reflects regional concerns about the possibility of escalating regional tensions.
