Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: According to a press release from the press office of the Afghan Power Company, Abdul Bari Omar, the CEO of the company, met with investment delegations from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and shared with them the existing investment opportunities in the energy sector in Afghanistan.
In this meeting, Uzbek and Kazakh investors expressed interest in actively participating in the Afghan energy market and presented plans in the field of generating electricity and improving the capacity of Afghan engineers in technical sectors.
Abdul Bari Omar, welcoming these collaborations, said: “Investing in the electricity generation sector, in accordance with the strategy of the Breshna Company, is the best option for the sustainable development of Afghanistan, and we are fully prepared for comprehensive cooperation in this field.”
He added that the Breshna Company, based on its strategy, has effective and joint cooperation with national and international investors and welcomes the presence of foreign investors in this sector.
It is worth noting that Uzbek and Kazakh investors are willing to invest in various sectors of electricity generation, including the construction of power plants, and at the same time train Afghan engineers in specialized fields.
This is while Afghanistan is currently facing an electricity shortage crisis and in a number of areas, including Kabul, citizens only have access to electricity for 6 to 7 hours a day.
