Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Taiwan announced that the first "High Mars" missile unit has been formed in the country's army and has also approved the budget for the purchase of 168 M109A7 artillery. The previous plan was to purchase only 40 units and the aim is to replace old systems.
Jiang Bin, deputy director of the Information Department of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense and spokesman for the organization, said at a press conference on Monday (July 14) that Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is trying to achieve independence by relying on US support and extorting US support from the hardworking people of Taiwan.
He stressed that Taiwan's military efforts to counter reunification are reaching a dead end and, like "a chicken that eats a rock," are destined for complete destruction and self-destruction.
Responding to Taiwan's criticism of the activation of the W121 air route, Jiang Bin said that the route was a technical decision and in the interests of the people on both sides of the Strait, and accused the Taiwanese government of provocative activities and attempts to create tension.
China announced that the W121 route was connected to the M503 route on July 6. The M503 route is a north-south air route that was unilaterally designated in 2015, against Taiwan’s wishes, near the “mid-strait line,” and has been a source of tension and controversy ever since.
The W121 route, which is located on the border of Zhejiang Province and the M503 route, also reflects Beijing’s intention to manage civilian flights in the region and strengthen its control over the strait.
China warns that any resort to US weapons and military provocation by Taiwan will only result in the complete destruction of the island, and that military and provocative solutions cannot resolve the crisis. Beijing believes that the only lasting solution is dialogue and a cessation of separatist activities.
