Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release saying that Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of the Ministry, met with John Illiff, the new head of the World Food Program (WFP) in Afghanistan.
Mr. Muttaqi appreciated the assistance provided by the organization in Afghanistan and said that in addition to urgent humanitarian aid, more attention should be paid to development sectors.
John Illiff also expressed his satisfaction with the existing security in Afghanistan and considered it useful for improving the activities of the organization.
He also praised the services and assistance provided by the Islamic Emirate for the returning refugees and assured that the World Food Program will provide more assistance in this regard.
In conclusion, the two sides emphasized the continuation of joint cooperation, solving problems and providing effective assistance.
