Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: During this visit, Mawlawi Jamal also visited the Herat Provincial Information and Culture Department and was briefed on the work reports, challenges and existing needs in a joint meeting with the officials, managers and employees of this department.
After hearing the views and suggestions of local officials, the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, referring to the important historical and cultural position of Herat in the country, emphasized the restoration of historical monuments, strengthening cultural programs and developing the tourism industry in the province and promised cooperation and practical measures in these areas.
Meanwhile, Maulvi Ahmadullah Mottaqi, Head of Information and Culture of Herat, stated that the province is one of the most important cultural, historical and artistic centers of Afghanistan, and said: "Herat plays a prominent role in the country's tourism map with dozens of historical and Islamic monuments, and in recent years, the number of domestic and foreign tourists has increased significantly."
On the other hand, Omid Ahmadi, a history expert and university professor, stated in an interview with the Afghan Voice News Agency (AVA): "Herat has a vast base for historical tourism, and if investments are made in this sector, it can be considered a historical city in the region and the world." He also called for more attention to other provinces with historical monuments.
It is worth noting that on the sidelines of this visit, the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture also visited various departments of the Herat Directorate of Information and Culture and closely examined the current status of historical sites and monuments.
