Start of the practical phase of Aynak copper mining; employment for 15,000 people and emphasis on adherence to commitments
With the start of the implementation phase of the Aynak copper mining project in Logar province, the Chinese MCC Company has announced that all technical and operational stages have been finalized and more than 15,000 direct and indirect job opportunities will be created. Local officials have also expressed satisfaction with the progress and emphasized the commitment of the Islamic Emirate to this project.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: In an official meeting held to accelerate the practical process of Aynak copper mining and strengthen cooperation between the Chinese MCC Company and local authorities, Wang Jiqing, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, announced that all technical stages of the project have been completed and existing obstacles have been removed.

Referring to the start of the operational phase of the project, he said that more than 15,000 people will be directly and indirectly provided with job opportunities in this phase. According to him, this step can contribute to the economic growth of the region and improve the living conditions of local residents.

Meanwhile, Maulvi Mohammad Anwar Dinparvar, the deputy governor of Logar, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project and said that the Islamic Emirate has fulfilled all its commitments to the project. He considered the cooperation of local institutions with the Chinese company MCC as one of the priorities and emphasized the continuation of supporting the extraction process.

The Aynak copper mine is considered one of the largest mineral reserves in the country and, if fully exploited, can play an important role in strengthening the economic foundations.

According to available studies, the contract for the extraction of the Aynak copper mine was signed in 2008 between the previous government and the MCC company, but its implementation had been postponed until now due to security, political and environmental challenges. Some sources say that the value of this project reaches billions of dollars and its capacity is unparalleled in the region.

In recent months, current officials have spoken of efforts to restart the project quickly, and closer cooperation between the government and Chinese investors has been reported.

Experts believe that the start of the operational phase of Aynak copper mining, if accompanied by transparency and careful management, could create a major transformation in the economy and job creation. Studies show that this project not only has high export potential, but can also become a sustainable source of income for years. However, observers warn that ignoring environmental considerations, financial transparency and real participation of local communities may lead to dissatisfaction or long-term damage. According to experts, making the most of the Aynak copper opportunity requires good management, accountability of responsible institutions and continuous monitoring.
