Expanding cultural cooperation between the National Museum of the country and the Ankara Ethnography Museum was discussed

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Qari Hamidullah Temkin, Cultural Attaché of the Ministry of Information and Culture at the Embassy of the country in Ankara, met with Veysi Gün, Director of the Ankara Ethnography Museum.

 

In this meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the development of cultural relations, cooperation between the National Museum of the country and the Ankara Ethnography Museum, and the protection and restoration of historical monuments.

 

Veysi Gün, referring to the foundations of diplomatic relations between the two countries, raised the possibility of creating a basis for extensive cooperation between the museums of the two sides. He said that a large part of the works in the Ankara Ethnography Museum belong to the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. The museum began collecting artifacts in 1924 and was officially opened in 1928.

 

The head of the Ankara Ethnography Museum also appreciated the presence of the cultural attaché and the accompanying delegation in the museum and called the efforts to establish cooperation between the museums of the two countries valuable.

 

According to information published in the Turkish media, the Ankara Ethnography Museum, in addition to its collection of historical artifacts, has a special section for displaying arts and crafts of different ethnic groups. Turkish experts have suggested that joint exhibitions be held between the two countries to introduce cultural and historical artifacts of both sides to visitors. Informed sources have also said that initial negotiations have begun for the exchange of temporary exhibitions between the country's National Museum and the Ethnography Museum.

 

According to cultural experts, establishing cooperation between the country's museums and reputable global centers can play an important role in better introducing cultural and historical heritage. Studies show that such interactions, in addition to increasing the capacities for restoration and preservation of artifacts, provide the basis for the exchange of knowledge and experience between experts. Expanding cultural relations at the international level can present a more positive and dynamic image of the country in the global arena.
