Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq announced that it had identified and arrested a terrorist network affiliated with the ISIS group; a network that intended to target pilgrims attending the Arbaeen ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS).
According to an official statement, this terrorist network was planning to plant homemade bombs on the southern routes of pilgrims’ movement and also to contaminate distributed food with deadly poisons.
The Iraqi Judicial Council also revealed that investigations have shown that the ISIS group recruits through methods such as brainwashing, the use of bloody books and misleading content, and furthers its goals by integrating them into distorted religious education groups and associating them with sheikhs specially prepared for this purpose, in order to force them to swear allegiance to the leadership of the terrorist organization.
The Iraqi judiciary called on families to closely monitor their children’s activities in cyberspace and to be vigilant about any changes in their behavior or intellectual tendencies.
22 terrorists arrested in Karbala Mu’alla
The Karbala governor’s office announced on Thursday the arrest of a terrorist cell consisting of 22 people who planned to carry out operations during the Arbaeen ceremony. The group’s target was one of the Hussainiyya on the pilgrim route between Karbala and Najaf.
