Following reports that the Palestinian Authority is attempting to declare independence, Israel’s Minister of Internal Security called for immediate action to dismantle the organization at a cabinet meeting.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Israel’s Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben-Guer announced today (Sunday, August 10) that at the next cabinet meeting he will propose to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that practical and immediate steps be taken to overthrow the Palestinian Authority.

Ben-Guer used the word “illusion” to describe the PA’s demand for the establishment of a Palestinian state and said that the answer must be the destruction of the “terrorist state” headed by him.

Ben-Guer made this demand after news sources reported this morning that Ramallah is seriously considering a plan to turn the PA into an independent state.

Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed newspaper reported today that this issue may be officially announced by Mahmoud Abbas at the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2025.

This news comes at a time when several European countries, including France, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia and Norway, have announced in 2024 that they have recognized the state of Palestine. France is set to make this official announcement in September, a move that has been met with a strong reaction from Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called France’s position “encouraging terrorism” and said that the establishment of a Palestinian state under the current circumstances would only lead to the destruction of Israel, not peaceful life alongside it.

He clarified: “The Palestinians are not seeking to establish a state alongside Israel, but rather an alternative to it.”
