Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Port workers in Genoa, Italy, blocked the passage of the Saudi ship Yanbu carrying military weapons for the Israeli regime.
According to the report, the Saudi ship had left the United States with military equipment when the Genoa port workers realized that the equipment was being transported for the Israeli regime.
The report continued by stating that about 40 Genoa port workers boarded the Saudi ship and blocked it.
Port officials pledged to establish a permanent monitoring mechanism to investigate arms smuggling after this incident.
The port workers insisted that they were not working for war, and did the same in 2019 for another arms shipment from Saudi Arabia. The head of the independent Italian port workers’ association stated that working with such ships would make the workers complicit in war crimes and genocide in Gaza.
