Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Gholamhossein Mozaffari, Governor of Khorasan Razavi, said at a meeting to review and follow up on the problems of the Dogharoon Free Zone border: This area is one of the golden opportunities of the country's economy that should not be a victim of unnecessary bureaucracy and marginal issues.
According to him, Afghanistan is developing industrially and if Iran delays in taking the necessary measures, some of the border opportunities will be lost.
In this meeting, issues such as accelerating and facilitating passenger and cargo traffic, the condition of the roads leading to the free zone, and problems caused by the slow movement of traffic at the border were discussed and examined.
The governor of Khorasan Razavi added: "Unfortunately, we have become caught up in minor and unimportant issues, which have caused a loss of time and golden opportunities in this region. Afghanistan is developing industrially at a remarkable pace, and if we do not accelerate in this regard, we will lag behind."
Referring to the need to facilitate cargo and passenger traffic, solve customs problems, upgrade infrastructure, and remove unnecessary restrictions, Mozaffari stated: "The development of Dogharun is not a local project; it must become a major economic and export hub of the country."
He also called for the establishment of large economic companies and offices in the region to increase financial turnover, job creation, and investment by leaps and bounds.
The Governor of Khorasan Razavi continued: “Executive issues such as providing customs services, scanners, border controls, and lifting restrictions must be resolved quickly so that existing problems can be minimized and trade and movement of goods can be carried out without delay. Cooperation and interaction between agencies must be strengthened effectively.”
He emphasized: “The interests of agencies must not hinder development and national interests. A win-win equation must be designed so that not only the investor does not suffer, but all agencies and people benefit.”
Mozaffari also referred to the negotiations and cooperation with the country’s authorities and stated: “We have held several meetings with Herat officials and reached understandings that must be implemented. This issue is very important for the export of goods and the development of regional trade. We are currently exporting goods to Afghanistan and we must resolve problems such as the limitation on the number of passing vehicles so that this process can be carried out with better quality and speed.”
