Assassination of Truth in Gaza; The Martyrdom of “Anas Al-Sharif” is an Eternal Shame on the Forehead of the Zionist Regime

Kabul: The full text of the AVA statement in response to the martyrdom of Anas Al-Sharif and his colleagues is as follows:

The Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) strongly condemns with the utmost anger and disgust the criminal and blatant act of the Zionist occupation regime in the planned assassination of the brave Al Jazeera journalists, especially Anas Jamal Al-Sharif. This horrific crime, which took place on Sunday evening and directly targeted the journalists’ tent in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, once again exposed the inhuman and anti-freedom nature of this regime to the world.

The Zionist regime, whose history is full of killings of civilians, children, women and journalists, is now brazenly not only admitting to the murder of defenseless journalists, but also trying to justify this crime by falsely labeling them. Such claims are a thin cover to hide the military failures and moral scandals of this child-killing and media-hating regime.

Anas Jamal Al-Sharif and his colleagues were among the last awakened consciences and truthful voices in Gaza who courageously conveyed to the world the reality of the human catastrophe resulting from Israel’s brutal aggressions. Their assassination is not only a direct attack on press freedom and the world's right to know the truth, but also a desperate attempt to silence the voice of the oppressed Palestinian people at the crucial moments of their resistance.

While expressing deep sympathy with the families of these martyrs of the truth and their colleagues, Ava News Agency announces that this crime is a perfect example of state terrorism and a war crime that must be prosecuted without delay in international courts. The international community, the United Nations, institutions defending freedom of expression and the world's media unions are responsible for breaking their deadly silence in the face of this brutal attack on truth and truth-tellers.

We warn that the continuation of this process means giving the occupying regime a green light to further expand terror against journalists and eyewitnesses of crimes. The world must decide today: either stand by the truth and its owners, or become an accomplice in the blood of journalists and the oppressed Palestinian people in silence and inaction.
