The Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs has signed a memorandum of understanding with a charity organization to provide specialized training and supplies to 1,000 heirs of martyrs and disabled people in Paktia province to start small businesses in the sewing and dairy production sectors.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: The Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs announced that in order to increase the economic self-sufficiency of heirs of martyrs and people with disabilities, it has signed a memorandum of understanding worth $200,490 with the charity organization MAPWO.

Based on this memorandum, training courses will be held for 1,000 heirs of martyrs and disabled people in the sewing and dairy production sectors, and the necessary tools and supplies will be purchased and provided to them so that they can achieve financial independence by starting small businesses.

The signing of this memorandum of understanding was carried out between Mullah Sadu Khan Haghshenas, Head of External Relations and Planning of the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs, and Jamal Nasser, Head of MAPWO. The implementation process of the project will be completed within six months in coordination with the Department of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs of Paktia Province.

At the signing ceremony, Mullah Sadu Khan Haghshenas, while appreciating MAPWO’s support for needy groups such as orphans, widows and disabled people, emphasized that continuous and regular support for this vulnerable group should be a priority.

In reports from development institutions and non-governmental organizations, technical and vocational training, along with providing equipment and financial support, is considered one of the most effective solutions for the economic empowerment of affected families.

Similar projects in other provinces have also increased income generation and improved the quality of life of the heirs of martyrs and disabled people.

According to socio-economic experts, providing specialized training and providing work tools is an important step towards the economic empowerment of vulnerable groups. Studies show that such projects, in addition to reducing dependence on foreign aid, help improve morale and increase active participation of individuals in society. According to experts, the continuation and expansion of these projects can pave the way for sustainable growth and economic development at the local and national levels.
