Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the Palestinian news agency Shehab, Dr. Muhammad Abu Afesh, Director of Medical Relief in the Northern Gaza Strip, stated in a statement that the health situation in the Gaza Strip is very difficult and a large number of patients, wounded and martyrs arrive at hospitals daily.
He added: "The cases of malnutrition are increasing and we are facing great difficulty in dealing with the wounded due to the severe shortage of necessary medical equipment, medicines and tools."
The Gaza health official stated that the medical staff is forced to postpone many surgical operations on patients due to the lack of operating rooms and the deliberate targeting of medical staff by the Zionist occupiers.
According to him, the Zionist occupiers are deliberately bombing hospitals, destroying their facilities and assassinating medical staff in order to put pressure on citizens and make life difficult for them.
On the other hand, according to a study published by the prestigious journal "The Lancet", the Gaza Strip is facing a new threat caused by the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacterial diseases, which can lead to more dangerous diseases and faster transmission of infectious diseases. The study was based on more than 1,300 samples taken from Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
The Lancet study highlights that severe shortages of medical equipment and medicines, combined with widespread war-related injuries and malnutrition, have worsened the condition of patients.
At the same time, the Guardian newspaper reported, citing the World Health Organization’s representative in the Palestinian territories, that more than half of the vital medicines in Gaza have run out, and although limited quantities of medical equipment have entered the territory, this is far below the ideal level in Gaza.
Rick Beiber Korn described the public health situation in Gaza as catastrophic and warned that hunger and malnutrition continue to lead to death and illness among Gazans.
