Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, explained Iran’s positions on resistance and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries during his recent visit to Lebanon while meeting with officials in the country, and considered the purpose of this clarification to be to eliminate misunderstandings created by the opposition.
He emphasized that Iran is clear in expressing its positions and seeks clarity against political maneuvering.
Regarding the recent war between Iran and the Israeli regime, Larijani said that Tel Aviv’s goal was to overthrow the Islamic Republic, but not only did it not achieve this goal, but even parts of the opposition took a stance in support of the government. According to him, contrary to the expectations of the Israeli regime, Islamic countries supported Iran despite their differences, and these failures indicate Tel Aviv’s strategic failure.
Comparing the power and results of the war, he noted that the damage inflicted on Israel was heavier in terms of geography, population, and the amount of destruction, and even American officials acknowledged that Iran had created difficult conditions for Israel.
Larijani added that Iran is always ready to respond firmly to the next actions of the Israeli regime and believes that as long as Netanyahu is in power, peace will not be established in the region and even within Palestine.
Regarding negotiations with the US, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said that negotiations are valuable when both sides accept that war is not the solution. However, if negotiations are merely a tool for the next war, they will be useless.
He emphasized that the US must first clarify its task, because it is talking about negotiations and war at the same time. While the Iranian government is rooted and popular and cannot be overthrown by military operations.
He added that as long as the US approach is "surrender or war," negotiations will not yield results. Larijani warned that some inside Iran consider negotiations to be the solution to all problems, but this is only true when the other side admits to the military stalemate and changes its approach.
Regarding relations with Syria, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said that cooperation is possible, but it depends on the behavior of the current government in Damascus.
Larijani emphasized that in the current situation, given the extensive intervention of the Israeli regime in Syria, Iran is not willing to expand relations unless the situation changes.
