Iranian national football team striker Mehdi Taremi signed a two-year contract with Olympiacos Athens after a short one-day trip to Greece and joined the red and white team. Greek media and international journalists reported that the transfer was made for 2 to 2.5 million euros and Taremi will receive an annual salary of over 2 million euros.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Taremi, who was with the Iranian national team to participate in the CAF tournament in Tajikistan, received permission from the national team coach and left for Greece on a special flight on Sunday to finalize his contract after passing medical tests. After signing the contract, he will return to the national team camp in Tajikistan.
According to Greek media and international journalists, the transfer was made for a fee of 2-2.5 million euros, with Taremi set to earn more than 2 million euros per year at Olympiacos. The move also saved Inter the cost of extending the Iranian striker’s contract.
“I am very happy to join Olympiacos. Everyone knows how big and popular this club is and I hope I can help the team,” Taremi said upon his arrival in Athens. “We are all here to help the team succeed and the main goal is the success of the club,” he added of the competition with his new teammates, Ayoub El Kaabi and Roman Yarmouk.
The Iranian striker joined Inter as a free agent last summer and has scored three goals and provided nine assists in 43 appearances for the team in Serie A and European competitions. Before joining Olympiacos, Taremi was the target of many European and Brazilian clubs, but he rejected offers from Brazilian clubs Flamengo and Botafogo.
Olympiacos is currently at the top of the Greek professional league table with 6 points from 2 games, and Taremi will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League against teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and other big clubs.
