Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Mohammad Nasser Amin, head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, said that the organization has been planning to send aid since the first hours of the earthquake.
He added that 15 trucks carrying food and medicine worth about $100,000 are scheduled to be sent to Kunar, Nangarhar and other affected areas.
According to Amin, these shipments include medicine, basic medical supplies, flour and other essential items, and their preparation will be completed by the end of tonight. He emphasized that these donations have been provided through the initiative and collective cooperation of Herat industrialists and traders.
The head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, recalling the pioneering role of this institution in times of crisis, added: “In every emergency, our members have been with the people, and this time too, we are trying with all our might to help the affected.”
The earthquake that struck in the middle of last night shook the provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar and parts of eastern Afghanistan. Many residential houses were destroyed and families spent the night in the open air and full of fear.
In such circumstances, the urgent assistance of Herat traders and industrialists can be a small balm to the pain of thousands of grieving and homeless families.
