Tensions in Bahrain after the return of the Israeli ambassador
Bahraini citizens clashed with security forces in protest against the normalization of relations with the Israeli regime and the return of the regime’s ambassador to Manama.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Eyewitnesses reported that on Monday evening (September 2), protesters chanted slogans against the normalization of relations with Israel in their rallies and emphasized that their goal was to convey a message of opposition to the official government policies to the international community.

The protesters stated that the Bahraini nation is not responsible for the “government approach aligned with Zionism” and are demanding an end to these policies.

The demonstration was held after the return of the Israeli ambassador to Manama. Bahrain had established diplomatic relations with Israel in previous years, but following regional tensions and the Gaza war in 2023, the Bahraini ambassador was recalled from Tel Aviv and the country’s diplomatic and economic relations were suspended.

After a two-year hiatus, on August 27, 2025, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani accepted the credentials of Shmuel Roel, the new Israeli ambassador to Manama.
This decision by the Bahraini government was met with widespread public reactions, and in recent days, protesters in various areas, including Manama and Daraz, have taken to the streets and clashed with security forces to demonstrate their opposition to the return of the Israeli ambassador.
