Afghanistan national football team to face India in final CAF group match today
The country's national football team will face India in the third and final group match of the Central Asian Football Confederation (CAFC) on Thursday, September 4, at the Hesar Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Sports Service: The Afghan national football team is in Group B of the tournament and has already lost in its last two matches. Vincenzo Alberto Iniesta's team lost 3-1 to Iran in the first match and lost 2-0 to Tajikistan in the second match.

Afghanistan is currently at the bottom of Group B without any points. The national football team can only have a small chance of competing for third place in the table if they win against India.

Regional sports media have reported that the Indian team also needs to win this match to advance to the next stage and will play with the main squad. The group matches of the CAF Confederation Cup will be held with the participation of Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and India, and Iran has almost secured its promotion with two wins so far.

According to sports observers, the Afghan national team is enduring a lot of psychological pressure due to poor results in past matches. Experts say that the lack of adequate preparation games and weak team cohesion were the main reasons for the failure in this tournament. However, the match against India could be an opportunity for the national team to boost the morale of their fans by presenting a different game and showing that they have the capacity to improve their performance.
