Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-International Service: In a meeting he had with Kaya Kallas, the EU foreign policy chief and coordinator of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA, in Doha on Thursday evening, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi emphasized the important role of this institution in supporting diplomacy.
In this meeting, Araqchi protested the recent move by the three European countries to restore the canceled Security Council resolutions, calling it illegal and unjustified. He called for the European Union to fulfill its responsibility in neutralizing these movements and supporting the diplomatic process based on the commitments of the JCPOA and Resolution 2231.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also emphasized Tehran's continued commitment to the path of diplomacy, saying that Iran is serious and steadfast on this path.
In contrast, the EU foreign policy chief emphasized the need to continue diplomacy and negotiations as the only solution to disputes and called for more time to be given to the negotiation process.
The two sides agreed in this meeting to continue consultations in the coming days and weeks.
It is worth noting that Seyyed Abbas Araqchi met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, the previous day and discussed bilateral and regional issues.
