Emphasis on the development of the Chabahar project in Iran-India security consultations
A phone call between Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of security, defense, and the development of the strategic Chabahar project.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The media of the Islamic Republic of Iran reported that Ajit Doval, in this call, congratulated Larijani on his appointment to this position in sensitive regional conditions, wished him success, and emphasized the importance of strategic relations between Tehran and New Delhi.
 
Ali Larijani also appreciated Doval's congratulatory message and considered the development of economic and security cooperation between the two countries essential, saying: "The Chabahar Port project can play an important role in strengthening regional trade and maritime security as a strategic connection point between Iran, India, and regional countries."
 
According to ISNA, he added that the development of Chabahar infrastructure is of high geopolitical importance not only for the benefit of Iran and India, but also as an alternative route to connect Central Asia to open waters.
 
It was also said that the parties agreed that in the near future, with Larijani's visit to India, negotiations on the Chabahar project and other areas of cooperation would continue.
