Unity and Avoiding Division; A Mandatory and Vital Duty to Preserve the Islamic Ummah
The Deputy for Iranian Affairs and Advisor to the Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Religions, in the sixth webinar of the 39th International Conference on Islamic Unity, congratulated the Unity Week and the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and emphasized: “The enemies of Islam, whether America or the Zionist regime, do not distinguish between Shiites and Sunnis and all target the Islamic Ummah. Therefore, unity and avoiding division is a mandatory and vital duty to preserve the Islamic Ummah.”
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Stating that the duties of scholars in achieving unity are more important than ever, Mohsen Meschi stated: “The three principles of monotheism, prophecy, and resurrection constitute more than 95 percent of our beliefs and show that Muslims share a common view on more than 90 percent of the main issues.”

According to the Qadr News Agency, Meschi referred to five verses of the Quran about the unity of the Islamic nation and said: "Creating a single nation, adhering to the rope of Allah, avoiding division after the coming of clear evidence, brotherhood among believers, and mercy and empathy among the nation of the Prophet (PBUH) are the axes that all Shiite and Sunni commentators emphasize."
He also reminded: "In Islamic narrations, the principle of brotherhood among Muslims is emphasized regardless of religious affiliation; the Prophet (PBUH) established a clear example of unity in history by establishing a brotherhood pact between the Aws and the Khazraj, the Muhajirin and the Ansar."
Referring to the book Al-Furq Bin Al-Furq by Abdul Qahir Baghdadi, Meschi stated: "He has introduced the characteristics of a Sunni Muslim monotheist in accordance with common principles of belief; principles that Shiites and other Islamic sects also share."

10 important tasks of scholars to achieve Islamic unity:
1. Promoting human virtues based on the life of the Prophet (PBUH), the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), and the Companions.
2. Avoiding rigid thinking, superstitions, and religious prejudices.
3. Paying special attention to the Quran and Sunnah and avoiding interpretation based on opinion.
4. Avoiding swearing, cursing, and excommunication.
5. Respecting the courtesy of disagreement and dialogue in a good manner.
6. Expanding scholarly diplomacy in the Islamic world.
7. Avoiding narrating weak narrations and Israeliism.
8. Mutual recognition of religious beliefs on jurisprudential and hadith issues.
9. Accepting the naturalness of jurisprudential differences.
10. Focusing on the common enemy; global arrogance and the Zionist regime.
Referring to the common threats against Muslims in Libya, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Palestine, the advisor to the Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Denominations emphasized: “Any voice that is aligned with the enemies of Islam is a source of division and must be opposed.”
In conclusion, he expressed hope that scholars would lead the Islamic Ummah towards a bright future by preaching unity and convergence.
