Emphasis on Islamic Unity in the "Scientific Congress on Peaceful Life Between Islamic Denominations" by the Iranian Cultural Counselor in Kabul
At the scientific congress on "Peaceful Life Between Islamic Denominations Based on the Teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)," which was held at the initiative of the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, speakers, referring to Imam Khomeini's (RA) initiative in naming Unity Week, emphasized that the enemies of Islam intended to exploit the historical difference in the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but this threat turned into an opportunity for Muslim convergence and unity. The meeting, attended by Shiite and Sunni scholars, thinkers, and diplomats, discussed strategies to strengthen Islamic unity against global divisive waves.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Simultaneously with the beginning of Unity Week and the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the scientific congress on "Peaceful Life Between Islamic Denominations Based on the Teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)" was held at the initiative of the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul. The meeting, attended by intellectuals, Shia and Sunni scholars, university professors, and diplomatic officials, discussed ways to strengthen Islamic unity in the current critical situation.

Dr. Alireza Bekdali, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Kabul, pointed to the increasing pressures on Islamic countries and emphasized that Iran and Afghanistan, as two neighboring countries with common interests, must act on the basis of mutual respect and common values.

He considered unity and empathy to be the only effective solution to overcome regional crises.

Dr. Seyed Ruhollah Hosseini, the cultural advisor to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, referring to Imam Khomeini’s (RA) initiative in naming the “Week of Unity” from the 12th to the 17th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, said: “The enemies of Islam were trying to exploit the difference in the date of birth of the Prophet (PBUH) between Shia and Sunni, but this threat turned into an opportunity for convergence.”

Criticizing the West’s distorted narratives about Islam, Hosseini emphasized that the Islamic world needs “self-introduction” and that Shiite and Sunni scholars should introduce the true face of Islam to the world by focusing on commonalities.

He also considered the martyrdom of tens of thousands of Muslims in Gaza “a stain of shame on the forehead of the Islamic world” and called for practical action by Islamic countries against these crimes.

In his speech at the meeting, Hojatoleslam Ostad Akbari, deputy of the Shiite Ulema Council of the country, considered division to be the most dangerous weapon of the enemies of Islam and emphasized that unity is the only way to the honor and pride of the Islamic nation.

Professor Hamed Morteza, a university professor and Sunni researcher, cited the noble verse “And hold fast to the rope of Allah, all of you, and do not be divided,” and considered unity to be the fundamental principle of Islam and said: “By formulating the Medina Charter, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) established the world’s first constitution that emphasized human dignity and peaceful coexistence.”

He criticized the inaction of Islamic countries in the Gaza crisis, considered the behavior of some Arab governments contrary to the character of the Prophet (PBUH) and called for a review of regional policies.

Hojjatoleslam Dr. Alizadeh Mousavi, a faculty member of the University of Religions, examined four waves of Islamophobia in the West, from attacks on the Quran and the personality of the Prophet (PBUH) to the creation of extremist groups such as ISIS, and emphasized that the enemies of Islam have used religious differences to incite Muslims against each other.

He said: "In no period in the history of Islam have Muslims been exposed to such international threats. The way out of this situation is to move towards true unity among Islamic nations."
