Unity Week in Herat; Shia and Sunni Scholars Call for Greater Muslim Solidarity

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Herat: Hojjatoleslam Saeed Rezazada, a religious scholar, said in a speech: "The greatest blessing for Muslims is the blessing of unity. The Quran and Islamic traditions have repeatedly emphasized this principle, and the secret to the victory of nations lies in empathy and brotherhood."

 

He also referred to the holding of extensive ceremonies in Afghanistan and Islamic countries on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), and considered it a sign of Muslim devotion and a factor in strengthening unity.

 

Referring to the challenges of the Islamic world, including the migration crisis and the situation in Palestine, Rezazada said: "If the Islamic nation were united, Jerusalem would not have remained under occupation for more than seventy years."

 

Maulvi Abdul Hai Haqqani, a Sunni scholar, also considered Unity Week an opportunity to strengthen social and cultural ties among Muslims, saying, “Religious and ethnic differences only weaken Muslims. We must learn from the example of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) in creating unity among Arab tribes.”

 

He emphasized that dialogue and exchange of views among Muslims can resolve many misunderstandings and create a more united society.

 

In this regard, the city of Herat is hosting numerous religious and cultural programs centered on Islamic brotherhood during Unity Week.
