Division and disagreement are the biggest obstacles to Afghanistan’s development; the growth of takfiri groups is due to religious differences

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: With the arrival of Unity Week and the birth anniversary of the last divine prophet, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), today (Monday, September 8), religious affairs experts said in an interview with Ava that Afghanistan is a country with a very high ethnic and religious diversity, and its contemporary history shows that division and disagreement have been the biggest obstacles to its development.

 

Hojat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimin Sayed Mohsen Hosseini, an expert on religious affairs and a member of the Evaluation Council of the High Commission of the Shiites of Afghanistan, said in an interview with Ava that economic development requires stability and security, and investment cannot be made in a tense and divided environment. If the energy of society is spent on internal conflicts instead of cooperation, economic development will be impossible.

 

Mr. Hosseini emphasized that religious and ethnic differences prevent national resources from being spent on public services, and national resources are wasted on the path of civil war, the creation of militia groups, and managing crises resulting from conflicts.

 

The member of the Evaluation Council of the High Commission of the Shiites of Afghanistan stated that no ethnic or religious group can govern a country with such complexities alone. Strengthening the unity and participation of all ethnic groups and sects in the power structure and decision-making will lead to the creation of a government with broad and sustainable legitimacy.

 

He added that religious differences are a suitable environment for the growth of Takfiri groups, which Islamic unity can eliminate.

 

Sayed Mohsen Hosseini stated that Takfiri groups have carried out bloody attacks on Shiite religious sites, and thousands of civilians have lost their lives in these attacks.

 

Hosseini emphasized that the violent and inhumane actions of these groups have shown the world a distorted and violent image of Islam; an image that is not accepted by the overwhelming majority of Afghan Muslims.

 

The religious affairs expert emphasized that religious scholars can play a key role due to the influence of the Quran and the deep respect they have in Afghan society. They can, by citing the Quran and Sunnah, reject the dry and petrified interpretations of Takfiris and emphasize verses and narrations that promote unity, Islamic brotherhood, and respect for the People of the Book.

 

He also said that the issuance of a historic fatwa against Takfiri, terrorism, and violence against civilians by great scholars of all religions can destroy the legitimacy of Takfiri ideology.

 

Hojatoleslam Hosseini stated that during their presence in Afghanistan, foreign forces have sometimes exploited tribal and local differences to obtain information or carry out operations, which has deepened these differences.

 

At the end of his speech, Mr. Hosseini added that many of these differences are rooted in the history and social structure of Afghanistan, and foreign actors have only exploited them for their own benefit.

 

On the other hand, Sayed Hossein Hosseini, an expert on religious affairs, added in an interview with Ava that the fundamental role of religious scholars as leaders is to convey the message of unity to society and prevent division and misfortunes that exist within the Islamic community.

 

Sayed Hossein Hosseini stated that Takfiri ideas exist throughout the world and are harmful to humanity.

 

Mr. Hosseini emphasized that humans must prepare themselves according to divine commands to be safe from the harm of Takfiri ideas.
