Along with Unity Week, a grand ceremony was held in Herat city to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) with the presence of hundreds of people from different walks of life. The ceremony was organized by a number of Sunni cultural figures of this province with the aim of strengthening empathy and unity between Shiite and Sunni Muslims.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Herat: The participants of this ceremony were media, cultural, religious figures, artists, scholars and youth who had gathered to commemorate this important occasion.
 
Abdul Basir Ami, the organizer of the ceremony, referring to the noble personality of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), emphasized that holding such programs can help strengthen social relations and solidarity among Muslims.
 
Qari Hamid Ramez, one of the religious and cultural figures present at the ceremony, also emphasized the importance of Islamic unity and said: “Islam needs a unified ummah and all Muslims must move in the direction of the goals of the Prophet (PBUH). "Indifference to unity has led to crises such as the current situation in Palestine."
 
Referring to the crimes against Muslims in Palestine, he considered the silence of the Islamic Ummah to be the result of a lack of unity and called for practical action and real solidarity to confront the existing challenges.
 
In addition to the recitation of the Quran and the celebration of Milad, the gathering also included a joint Shia and Sunni congregational prayer and a cultural exhibition, and was recognized as an opportunity to renew the pledge to the principles of unity and empathy among Muslims.
 
With hopes for a better future, the participants promised to continue their joint efforts in order to achieve true unity and defend Islamic values.
