Two Democratic Senators: Destruction in Gaza goes beyond bombs and bullets
Chris Van Hollen and Jeff Merkley, two US senators, warned after returning from a trip to the Middle East that the Zionist regime in Gaza has carried out a systematic plan to destroy and ethnically cleanse Palestinians, and the destruction goes beyond bombs and bullets.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to IRNA, the Guardian newspaper wrote that Hollen from Maryland and Merkley from Oregon, both members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, presented their findings from the congressional delegation's trip to the Middle East in a report titled "Netanyahu's Cabinet Is Implementing a Plan to Clean Up Gaza and the US Is Complicit in It."

The two senators emphasized that the Israeli regime is carrying out a systematic campaign to destroy and ethnically cleanse Palestinians in Gaza in order to force local residents to leave the area, and that the United States is complicit in these actions.

Referring to the suppression of humanitarian aid under the heading of "using food as a weapon of war," Hollen and Merkley said that the Zionist regime's actions go beyond targeting Hamas and have led to collective punishment of the entire people of Gaza.

Van Hollen added at a press conference on Thursday: "What we have witnessed shows that the Israeli regime is implementing a deliberate strategy of ethnic cleansing of the local population."

The two US senators, who have visited Egypt, the occupied territories, the West Bank and Jordan, called on the international community to stop this process.

Van Hollen also previously, in response to the Israeli regime's prevention of trucks carrying humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, considered the United States complicit in violating international law, adding that two million civilians in Gaza are under severe hunger and pressure.

Studies show that the concerns of the two Democratic senators are based on field evidence and direct observation from various parts of the Middle East. Observers believe that the Zionist regime's actions in Gaza and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid are not only exacerbating the humanitarian crisis, but have also led to political and legal pressure on the United States.
