Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs: International Community and Charitable Organizations to Continue Providing Aid to Kunar Earthquake Victims

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, traveled to Kunar province with a delegation to sympathize and provide aid to the earthquake victims.

 

In a meeting with officials of the Kunar local administration, tribal elders and families of the victims, he expressed condolences and praised the efforts of the Ministry of National Defense, the Air Force, the local administration and the local people in rescuing people trapped under the rubble.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs assured the earthquake victims that the Islamic Emirate stands by them and efforts to rebuild destroyed houses and reduce the damage of natural disasters in the future will continue.

 

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar also called on the international community, businessmen, investors and charitable institutions to continue providing assistance to the earthquake victims in Kunar. In this meeting, the head of the Chamber of Commerce also donated 20 million Afghanis and 50 thousand dollars with the Kunar Relief Commission, which has been allocated to the victims.

 

On this trip, Mullah Mohammad Naeem Akhund, Governor of Nangarhar, Shahabuddin Dilawar, Head of the Red Crescent Society, Nooruddin Turabi, Head of the National Disaster Preparedness and Combating Disasters Department, Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Maulvi Mohammad Nezami, Deputy Commander of the Kandahar Army Corps, accompanied the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

 

Studies show that continued aid from the international community and the participation of charitable organizations can accelerate the reconstruction process for the earthquake victims in Kunar and make it possible to reduce the damage caused by natural disasters. According to observers, coordination between the local government, relief organizations, and domestic and foreign investors will play an effective role in increasing the efficiency of aid and sustainable reconstruction.
