Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Tehran: The Islamic Republic’s media reported that the first trilateral political consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of India, and the Republic of Uzbekistan were held on Saturday, September 9, 2025, at the level of regional directors general of the three countries’ foreign ministries.
It was said that the Iranian delegation was headed by Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Director General for South Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Indian delegation was headed by Anand Prakash, Regional Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India, and the Uzbek delegation was headed by Gholamjon Primaklov, Director General for Cooperation with South Asian, Middle Eastern and African Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
According to Tasnim, the three sides expressed their satisfaction with the holding of this meeting and emphasized its regular and annual continuation in order to ensure mutual benefits, develop regional prosperity and prosperity.
It was said that in this meeting, the parties emphasized expanding cooperation in the field of transportation, utilizing the strategic capacity of regional ports, especially Chabahar Port, and developing the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC). The progress made since the third meeting of the Chabahar Working Group, which was held in Mumbai, India in November 2024, was also reviewed.
The three countries also discussed ways to develop trade relations, facilitate regional transportation, and other issues of common interest.
