Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran this morning (Sunday, September 14) called the claims contained in the joint statement of the members of the G7 and its partners about the Islamic Republic of Iran baseless, irresponsible and pure projection, and condemned it.
The G7 and its partners made baseless claims against Iran in a joint statement on Friday, September 11, accusing Iran of carrying out “destructive activities.”
The statement was issued by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, the US and the European Union, and the G7 Rapid Reaction Mechanism’s fellow members, Australia and New Zealand.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the matter: “Making false accusations against those responsible for protecting Iran’s national security is a clear distortion of facts and a fraudulent projection by the creators of such statements, who have promoted lawlessness and intensified insecurity through their illegal and destabilizing behavior in various regions of the world, especially in West Asia.”
The statement said: “Without a doubt, the US and other G7 members must be held accountable for their inappropriate actions in jeopardizing the stability and security of the region and the world, especially due to their complicity and participation in the gross violations of international law, including humanitarian law and human rights, by the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine, as well as for supporting long-time terrorists.”
The statement states: "In a situation where the Zionist regime, with the full support of the United States, England, Germany, France, and other countries that are the originators of this anti-Iranian statement, is engaged in killing and genocide in occupied Palestine and in continuous war-mongering against the countries of the region, issuing anti-Iranian statements has no purpose other than to divert public attention from the crime of the century and the complicity of the originators of this statement in genocide."
The statement concludes by stating: "The originators of such irresponsible statements should correct their wrong and criminal policies towards Iran and the region, instead of insisting on the projection resulting from outdated, self-righteous and colonialist mindsets."
