30 Sep 2025 - 22:21

Following the sighting of unidentified drones over some European countries, including Poland, Amsterdam has decided to send new military equipment and weapons to strengthen Warsaw's defense capabilities.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to TASS, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that in order to increase Poland's defense capabilities and further protect the eastern borders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), it will send Patriot, NASAMS missile defense systems and anti-drone equipment to the country from December 1 of this year (December 10).

The statement also noted that Dutch F-35 fighter jets will be present in Poland from September 1 to December 1 (September 10 to October 10) and will patrol the country's airspace. After this period, these fighters will be replaced by Patriot and Nasam systems, as well as anti-drone equipment; equipment that is supposed to cover a major logistical route, the route through which Western military aid is sent to Kiev.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stated that the delivery of military weapons to Kiev will not affect the course and fate of the Ukrainian war. This military equipment will be gradually targeted and destroyed by the Russian armed forces.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk (September 19) announced that Russian drones that violated Polish airspace during the invasion of Ukraine were intercepted and shot down by this country (Poland) and its allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

In this regard, the Polish government called on its NATO allies to activate Article “4”.

According to Article 4 of NATO, the parties will consult each other whenever any member of the alliance is attacked or the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any member is threatened.

Warsaw has not yet provided any documentary evidence in connection with this drone attack to the international community.

Just a few hours after the Polish Prime Minister's statements, the Russian Defense Ministry wrote in a statement: There was no intention to engage in any conflict with any target on Polish territory.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the launch of Operation Eastern Sentry on September 12 (September 21) following Warsaw's request to activate Article 4 of the alliance's treaty.

Following these claims, according to a statement published on the NATO news website, Spain, England, Italy and Sweden will join the alliance's Operation Eastern Sentry with the aim of strengthening defense capabilities in the region.

Following the Polish government's claims, authorities in Estonia, Denmark, and Norway also announced that unidentified drones had violated their countries' airspace.
