Reactions to Israel
After the Zionist regime's attack on the Samood aid ships, the President of Bolivia called for global mobilization against Israel's barbarity; an attack that was accompanied by a wave of widespread international reactions.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The management of the global Samood flotilla to provide aid to the Gaza Strip announced this morning (Thursday, October 2) that another vessel in the convoy was seized by the Zionist regime.
 
The Samood flotilla management said in a statement: "The Israeli attack on the ships of the [Samod] flotilla is illegal and a war crime. The Israeli Navy is using hostile behavior against the fleet."
 
Stating that all the passengers on the ship are safe, the organization explained: "Israeli Navy vessels deliberately rammed the Florida ship and targeted other ships with water cannons."
 
Al Jazeera reported that 7 of the 44 ships of the Samood flotilla were seized by the Zionists, and the rest are heading towards the Gaza coast.
 
Hamas Movement: Hamas: Israel's attack on the Samood flotilla is piracy
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned the Israeli regime's attack on the Samood flotilla ships delivering aid to Gaza this morning (Thursday).
 
Hamas said in a statement: "The arrest of the Samood flotilla by the Israeli navy in international waters and the arrest of activists and journalists is a crime of piracy and maritime terrorism against civilians."
 
Al-Mayadeen reported, citing the statement: "The brutal attack on the Samood flotilla adds to the black record of the occupation's crimes against the Palestinian people and international solidarity activists."
 
The movement stated: “We commend the courage of free activists and their determination to break the siege of Gaza, despite the dangers and threats.”
 
The statement also states: “We call on the free people of the world to express their international outrage at the crimes of the occupiers against solidarity activists and aid flotillas by holding public events and protests.”
 
Iran: Israel’s attack on the Samood convoy is a terrorist act
Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s renewed attack on the Samood (Stability) naval convoy and the arrest of supporters of the oppressed people of Gaza.
 
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, praising the humanitarian action of activists and public groups from different countries in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine and trying to break the cruel siege of the Gaza Strip, described the Zionist regime’s attack on the convoy as a clear violation of international rules and a terrorist act.
 
Chile: Seizure of Samood flotilla violates international law
The Chilean government expressed deep concern over the Israeli attack on the Samood flotilla ships carrying aid to Gaza.
 
The Chilean government said in a statement: “The seizure of the Samood global flotilla violates the freedom of navigation guaranteed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and is a violation of obligations under international humanitarian law.”
 
Bolivia: Mobilize the world against Israeli brutality
“Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce Katakura” condemned the Israeli attack on the Samood flotilla ships carrying aid to Gaza.
 
Arce said in a statement: “We condemn the barbaric Israeli attack in recent hours against the Samood flotilla. This act of violence, carried out under the responsibility of Netanyahu, is a clear violation of international law and an affront to human dignity.”
 
Al-Mayadeen quoted him as saying: “We condemn before the world Netanyahu’s terrorist policy against the people who are suffering from siege, hunger, occupation and genocide.”
 
The Bolivian president continued: “We call on the international community, multilateral organizations and the free people of the world to condemn and mobilize against this new barbarity.”
 
Arce also added: “Silence [against Israel’s crimes] is complicity. Today, more than ever, humanity must stand with justice and life.”
 
UN official: Israel kidnaps Samood flotilla activists
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Occupied Palestine, condemned the Israeli regime’s attack on the Samood flotilla ships that were delivering aid to Gaza.
 
Albaniza, who is on the Gaza aid flotilla, said: “Israel is illegally kidnapping activists who risked their lives to break the illegal blockade of Gaza.”
 
Al-Masirah quoted him as saying: “Shame on Western governments for their complicity and silence in the face of Israel’s crimes against the people of Gaza. While the world is preoccupied with the kidnapping of the Samoud flotilla, Israel continues to massacre innocent civilians in Gaza.”
 
The UN official also added: “Our Arab brothers and sisters, are you there too? We must stop Israel’s crimes.”
 
Turkey: Israeli attack on Samoud flotilla is a terrorist act
The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli attack on the Samoud flotilla ships carrying aid to Gaza.
 
The ministry said in a statement: “The attack by Israeli forces on the global flotilla of the Samood in international waters is a terrorist act that is considered the most serious violation of international law and endangers the lives of innocent civilians.”
 
According to the Anadolu Agency, the statement said: “We call on the United Nations and all international organizations to immediately take action to lift the illegal blockade of Gaza, allow humanitarian aid to enter the Strip, and ensure freedom of navigation.”
