Amir Khan Muttaqi to visit New Delhi

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The United Nations Security Council on Thursday issued a temporary exemption, lifting restrictions on Muttaqi's travel for a week. "This exemption has been publicly announced and we will update the information related to the Afghan Foreign Minister's visit," Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a press conference.

 

He added that diplomatic contacts between India and the Islamic Emirate have continued in recent months, and the telephone conversation between Jaishankar, the Indian Foreign Minister, and Amir Khan Muttaqi in May is an example of these interactions. Jaiswal also noted that after the recent earthquake in the country, India sent humanitarian aid to Kunar province, and some of this aid was transported through Chabahar Port.

 

International affairs experts say that the main purpose of this visit is to manage regional security and operational issues and review the status of transit and development projects. According to observers, through this interaction, India wants to better monitor Pakistan's influence and terrorist threats in the region, while the Islamic Emirate has the opportunity to interact with its neighbors within the framework of practical and development cooperation.
