Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock announced today (Monday, October6) in a press release that, according to officials from the Department of Agriculture of Maidan Wardak Province, 255 hectares of land in the province are currently under cherry orchards and their yields have increased significantly compared to last year.

According to the press release, this year, 14 cherry demonstration orchards have also been established on 24 acres of land in the center and six districts of the province.

Gardeners in Maidan Wardak have expressed their satisfaction with the favorable cherry harvest and the availability of a market for their products during the harvest season, and have called for more attention to be paid to the establishment, revival, and promotion of cherry orchards in the province.

It is worth noting that cherries are among the country's early-ripening fruits, and in recent years, gardeners' interest in planting and growing cherry trees has increased due to early harvest and a suitable market.
