Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdul Bari Khalili, a university professor, said in an interview with AVA: “If we consider the mission to be the creation of an independent, stable and democratic Afghanistan, as the Americans were chanting when they arrived, the answer is no. The US withdrawal in 2021 and the fall of the former Afghan government showed that this intervention had created a dependent and fragile structure that collapsed with the withdrawal of foreign forces.”
The university professor added: “In general, this event is a serious warning that political independence and domestic decision-making are the most important elements of Afghanistan’s survival. No foreign force can be more compassionate towards our country than the people themselves.”
Operation Storm Al-Aqsa and the occupation of Afghanistan on October 7th; What is the similarity?
Mr. Khalili called October 7th a historic day and said: “The most important similarity in the two major historical events on October 7th is that with Storm Al-Aqsa, resistance in Palestine was revived, and with the US aggression in Afghanistan, people’s awakening, taking the front, and resistance against the occupation were formed.”
He continued: “Operation Storm Al-Aqsa also took place on this date. Despite its human and political consequences, it was a turning point in global attention to the Palestinian issue. The Palestinian issue had been sidelined for years, and many countries were in the process of normalizing relations with Israel. But this operation made people look at the realities on the ground again.”
Khalili emphasized: “This action was able to elevate Palestine’s political status on the international stage, at the very least it brought Palestine to the forefront of the news and showed that without a just solution to the Palestinian crisis, no lasting peace is possible in the region. In fact, this operation was not just a military action, but a powerful political message.”
He added: “The Al-Aqsa Storm was a turning point in the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Although its human cost for the Palestinians was heavy, it showed that resistance is not just an emotional reaction, but a calculated strategy to resist the occupation. The Hamas operation challenged Israel for the first time in recent decades, not only on a military level but also on a psychological and political level.”
Khalili stated that “the rise of Hamas resistance is now more than ever seen in popular and regional support,” adding: “With the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm, Palestine has returned from a marginal issue to the forefront of global news. Also, missile power, urban warfare management, and unyielding will have put Israel in a bind.”
America’s moral and political legitimacy is eroding
Mr. Khalili also stated: “The reality is that the image of America and Israel, especially in the Islamic world and even among many Western nations, has been severely damaged. Today, public opinion around the world is looking at the Palestinian issue with more open eyes and is not accepting the facts filtered by the official media.”
He continued: “The pressure of public opinion is gradually affecting governments as well. Today, we are witnessing widespread global protests, civil sanctions, and even some countries changing their positions towards Israel. America may still have superior military and economic power, but its moral and political legitimacy is eroding.”
Khalili emphasized: “If the criterion for victory were only military power, the answer might be different. But in today’s world, victory means the support of nations, global legitimacy, and standing on the path of truth. And in this context, we are witnessing the growth of the position of resistance and the decline of blind support for occupation day by day. The future belongs to justice and the awakening of nations, even if it takes time.”
Free nations do not surrender to force
Alidad Ebrahimi, a political analyst, said in an interview with Ava: “The US aggression on Afghanistan and the Israeli attack on Gaza after Operation Storm al-Aqsa on such a day showed that no power can make free nations submissive and obedient to it by force.”
He added: "Although Israel has turned Gaza into a pile of dust with its devastating attacks and the modern and advanced weapons it continuously receives from the United States and the West, today we see that, contrary to expectations, resistance is rising from the ashes and ruins of this strip and is bargaining with the world's major powers to find a logical solution and end the war, and is presenting its demands with authority." Brahimi emphasized: "The United States, which as the hegemonic and superior global military and economic power has always aimed to dominate other countries, is today on the verge of collapse and isolation with its hostile actions at the international level and unwarranted support for the crimes of the Israeli regime, and this is in fact the main result of the Al-Aqsa storm." He also said: "Although Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7th had tragic consequences for the Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip, and with the aggression andThis great storm has turned America and Israel into the most hated, most barbaric, and most criminal countries in the world today, in terms of morality and humanity.”
He added: “Today, if Trump proposes a peace plan with Hamas and emphasizes ending the war, it is not out of compassion for the people of Gaza, but in fact he is trying to save himself and Israel from the pressures of public and global opinion and wants to regain his lost moral and human face. But it seems unlikely, because these conspiracies will not be completed and will be neutralized with the vigilance of Hamas and other axes of resistance, as America wants.” retaliatory attacks of the Zionist regime, thousands of innocent civilians were martyred, tens of thousands were injured and displaced, and residential houses and infrastructure were turned into ruins, but also
